Our Ethos

Working Girls Press was founded in 2023 with the intent to uplift, publish, promote, and distribute art and writing by sex workers. We are a collaborative press with collectivist practices, run by sex workers for sex workers. Currently we publish anthologies, community resources, poetry, and art books. 

We practice financial transparency and equity–budgets and expenses are shared both with our authors and our audience. Authors are paid upfront for their work and earn competitive royalties from all sales, in perpetuity. We believe in people over profit—our press was born from a DIY ethos and our community will always remain at the core of our mission and decision making. 

We are an AI-free business–we do not use any AI products in any facet of our business operations or publishing practices. We believe in paying creative people fair wages for their work, and we aim to create more paid opportunities for sex worker writers and artists. In the rising tide of sex worker publishing, we are proud to play a part in the creation of a living archive of sex worker storytelling, critical thought, and creative expression.

The Devil’s in the Details

  • Access to the House of Idle Hands is offered on a sliding scale of $25 - $100. This is a one-time payment, not a subscription, and gives you lifetime access to the archives.

  • The House of Idle Hands includes access to the entire Peepshow Media archive, as well as exclusive behind the scenes and archival material from Working Girls Press, which we will continue to update regularly as we put out more work. Members also get access to merchandise not being released to the general public, and discount codes which can be used on any item in our store. The archives will be updated monthly, and merch drops will happen a couple times a year!

  • All the funds we receive from the House of the Idle Hands will go towards the sustainability of Working Girls Press. We do our best to keep our costs low so that we can offer writers and artists high pay rates and royalties. Proceeds from this archive will help us pay for our website, domain, merchandise runs, and things like our registered agent and LLC filings!
